MEET OUR dentists
Dr. R. Kent Scoville
Dr. R. Kent Scoville graduated from Weber State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology and Chemistry. He then attended the University of Southern California School of Dentistry and graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Following graduation, he served as a Dental Officer in the United States Air Force where he received further training in an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.
After completion of military service, Dr. Scoville began private practice at Hillside Dental and Lomond View Dental.
Dr. Scoville and his wife Linda Galvez Scoville have been married for over 45 years. They had the opportunity to experience over 22 years of that time in military service in many parts of the world. They have been blessed with 6 children and 13 grandchildren.
Ronald J. Scoville “Dr. Ron” is the oldest of 6 children and grew up moving around the world in an Air Force family. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology in 2001, then received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Southern California in 2005.
Ron moved to Utah and joined the practice in 2005, then a few years later married Darcee Kawaguchi. They have 5 beautiful children who are full of life and energy. Ron still enjoys racquetball, the piano, and watching his kids tumble and play other sports.

Dr. David Scoville
Dr. David K. Scoville graduated from the USC School of Dentistry in 2015 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He also attended a two-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency and received a Master’s Degree in Oral Biology. He spent six years as a dentist in the U.S. Army and was stationed in D.C., North Carolina, South Korea, and Louisiana. He left the army in 2021 to move closer to family and spend more time with his nieces and nephews.

Nurse Practitioner
Sara is the medical director for our MedSpa treatments. She owns and practices at Heart and Soul Family Medicine in West Point, UT.
I am a community-oriented individual with a strong love for reading and personal growth, actively participating in a book club, Bible study, and book study group. I am involved in my church, where I volunteer in the nursery and enjoy serving others. Originally from southern Arizona, I appreciate cooler climates and especially enjoy snowy weather. I am passionate about pursuing a career in the medical field, with the goal of becoming a dental hygienist and making a positive impact on others’ health.

Office Manager
Marianne Jensen has been our office manager at hillside dental for over 20 years. Marianne is an expert at understanding dental insurance benefits and is always looking out for our patients, helping them to get the most out of their insurance. Bruce is in a management position at another company but he still takes the time to keep our fish tank vibrant and healthy!

Erica Mendez
Front Desk
Erica works at our front desk at Lomond View:
Erica Mendez has more than 10 years of experience in healthcare and dental settings, with a passion for helping patients feel welcomed and supported from the moment they walk through the door. Her background in a variety of administrative and patient service roles has given her a strong understanding of the patient experience and the importance of compassionate care.
As a member of the front office team, Erica enjoys building relationships with patients, assisting with scheduling and insurance questions, and helping ensure each visit runs as smoothly as possible. She is committed to creating a friendly and positive environment where patients feel comfortable and cared for.
Outside of the office, Erica enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the outdoors, and making lasting memories with her loved ones. She also enjoys dancing, trying new restaurants, and exploring Utah after recently relocating from Idaho. As she likes to say, she is a "born-and-raised potato," so Utah has been an exciting new adventure.
Joann has been a Registered Dental Hygienist since 2013, bringing over a decade of clinical experience and a genuine passion for patient-centered care. She earned her RDH, BS from Idaho State University and has built her career around the belief that every patient deserves personalized attention and a comfortable, positive experience in the chair. Her clinical background and commitment to continuing education allow her to provide thorough, thoughtful care tailored to each individual’s needs.
As a member of the hygiene team, Joann takes pride in getting to know her patients on a personal level — taking the time to listen, answer questions, and create a plan that truly fits their unique oral health goals. She understands that a visit to the dental office isn’t always easy, and she works hard to ensure every patient feels at ease and well cared for from start to finish.
Outside of the office, Joann loves diving into a good book, tackling DIY projects around the house, and hitting the trails with her husband, two kids, and their dog. She finds joy in the little things and brings that same warmth and enthusiasm to every patient she sees.
