Modern dentistry tools and techniques have revolutionized the level of care that restorative and cosmetic dentists Drs. Kent and Ron Scoville and Brandi Oberg can provide. The following are a few reasons why we are a dental technology forward practice in Clearfield, Utah.
Please review our wide spectrum of restorative and cosmetic dental technology options below. If you don’t see a dental technology here that you are seeking, please discuss any solution with us.
Dental Lasers – We use different types of dental lasers. One of the types we use is for diagnosis to help us find cavities more accurately. We also use lasers for soft tissue procedures, such as cosmetic gum surgeries. Dental lasers make procedures more comfortable for our patients.
Using light, the laser cuts or vaporizes tissue. Lasers are used to strengthen the bond between a filling and tooth. They are also used in whitening procedures, with heat enhancing the effect of bleaching agents.
We use the Picasso Laser for safe and comfortable treatment right in our office. This multi-use piece of technology is precise and saves time while producing terrific results.
Whitening – We use safe methods to brighten the color of your teeth. We can discuss which whitening method works best for you. We take your smile to best color shade to suit your overall smile. Dentures and implants can also be whitened in our office.
Digital X-rays – Digital X-ray sensors are used instead of traditional photographic film. The advantages of this technology are that images are processed immediately and can be enhanced on screen in our office. The best benefit is that less radiation is used to produce the image.
CAD/CAM Technology - Our E4D Design and Milling Center is a device that takes realistic digital images of a tooth. We design the crown on the computer in the office, custom to the tooth needed, then mill it from a block of porcelain right here on-site!
After the crown is milled, we add a glaze for shine and natural feeling smoothness, and bake it in the porcelain oven. The whole process takes about an hour! That means many people can have their crowns or veneers done in a single visit rather than the traditional method of wearing temporary crowns for two weeks.
Ceiling-Mounted Televisions – TV’s in our treatment rooms allow for our patients to take their minds elsewhere while they’re having their treatment done. Patients find this very relaxing and some even look forward to taking a break watching a film while their dental work is being done.
IV Sedation – We monitor you during all sedation procedures. We have advanced monitoring equipment to keep you safe and comfortable.
We can also give you a Valium to take the edge off before your procedure as well as IV drugs to create the twilight sleep effect. The IV process usually causes no memory of the procedure.
There are many other procedures that we perform using the latest dental technology. Never hesitate to ask us about our procedures.
